About Alfred

Born in Armenia, Alfred Reganyan immigrated to California while still a child. As a pianist under the tutelage of Dr. Lucy Nargizyan (USC) at East Los Angeles College, he studied both solo and collaborative repertories (accompanying and orchestral playing). During that time, he also sang in the school choir, played percussion, and took violin lessons. His playing has been described as having a ‘beautiful sound' and ‘exquisite tone’. His piano studies continued at California State University, Northridge, where his work with Mark Richman (Juilliard) on performance and Dr. Gayle Kowalchyk (Columbia) on pedagogy culminated in a Bachelor of Music degree.

I like to take my time and teach my students correctly. I like to make sure that they not only know how to play piano, but also understand how to play piano. I don't like to rush my students, and I want the process to be simple and easy.
