About Tayna

I am a Brazilian pianist and piano teacher with solid experience in both performance and music education. I am currently a PhD Research Visitor at the University of York, where I continue developing my artistic and academic research alongside my teaching practice.

My work as a teacher is guided by responsibility, organisation and genuine care for each student’s learning process. I believe that good teaching combines clear structure, patience and encouragement, helping students feel confident and motivated throughout their musical journey.

I have experience working with students of different ages and levels, always adapting my approach to individual needs and goals. Whether the student is learning piano as a hobby or seeking deeper musical development, lessons are conducted in a professional, respectful and supportive environment.

I value consistency, clear communication and well-structured lessons, ensuring that each class is meaningful and productive. My aim is to help students grow musically while building confidence, autonomy and enjoyment at the piano.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is student-centred and adapted to each individual’s goals, background and learning pace. I believe piano lessons should combine solid technical foundations with musical expression, curiosity and enjoyment of the process.

My methodology includes technical work (posture, touch, coordination), reading skills, rhythmic awareness, repertoire study and musical interpretation. Depending on the student’s interests, lessons may also include elements of music theory, listening, creativity and performance preparation. I adapt materials and strategies according to each student’s profile, whether they are beginners or more advanced players.

Lessons typically last 50 minutes, allowing enough time for technical development, repertoire work and musical discussion.

I am a Brazilian pianist and piano teacher, currently a PhD Research Visitor at the University of York, with extensive experience teaching students of different ages and levels. My academic background allows me to combine practical piano training with a deeper musical understanding, always in a clear and accessible way.

My lessons are suitable for children, teenagers and adults, from complete beginners to advanced students. Whether your goal is to start from scratch, improve technique, develop musicality or prepare repertoire, lessons are always tailored to your personal objectives.
