About Negar

I am a Philadelphia based Iranian musician, pianist, composer, content creator and founder of Pianozi piano pedagogy team in Iran. Currently, I am studying piano performance at Temple University. I've served as a pianist, accompanist, clarinet player, music teacher, and music producer.
Within the teaching field, I have founded Pianozi, which is a piano pedagogy team that serves Iranians across the world, with the hope o bringing a standard teaching style to the Iranian community.

I have experience teaching students from a broad age range in various level from beginner to advanced, exploring different possibilities within each character. Currently, my best effort is to get deeper within the field of piano pedagogy with respect to the idea of whole-musician. That's why I also create contents that includes an organized version of my experience with professional piano career

Mainly as a classical pianist, I have experience accompanying ballet, voice, instrument, musical theater and choir. I have had the chance to participate in competitions throughout Middle East and Europe, and performed several shows particularly in Iran, my home country, where I won national and regional prizes.
As a vocalist, I sing with Temple choir, and as a clarinet player, I have played in All-City Philadelphia and PMEA (District) Concert Band.

Lastly, the other aspects of my personality are expressed within photography/videography and writing. I have done photography as a freelancer and newspaper photographer, and managed the video and photo team for several dance showcases.

About the lesson

Music Theory:
I teach beginners or high school students.
My effort is to approach each topic from a perspective suited with my student's mindset, in order to teach the complex subjects with a simpler language.
My method is based on the books of Kostka or Poundie, the two most common theory book taught in academic environment.

Piano:
I teach beginner to intermediate level, from different age groups (children with minimum 7 years of age - elder). From the people who would like to add more fun to their time by playing piano, to the people who want to continue higher education or career.
My teaching style is a combination of different methods, based on the musical level and the personality of each student, in order to enhance the musicality and technique, and a better flow while getting comfortable with performance.
I love to explore different cultures and different personalities, thus, your cultural values are important for me. I'm against any kind of discrimination, thus I value everybody equally.
