About Callum

I'm first and foremost a tutor, rather than a musician. I love music beyond belief, but my focus is on being the best teacher I can be rather than the best musician necessarily. I love to help people and I'm very good at what I do. My aim is to help as many people as possible fulfil their musical potential, no matter where your ceiling for growth is. I am firm believer everybody should learn a musical instrument, even if it's just casually and so you can play a couple of your favourite pieces.

About the lesson

I'm a tutor who first and foremost believes that learning an instrument is a long-term commitment, which I know may discourage some people who want to play their favourite songs immediately. However, my approach is to build a strong foundational knowledge for you and teach you the tools you need to learn any song you want. Unlike other tutors, I want you to eventually stop having lessons with me because you'll have the information and knowledge to be able to do it alone. Whether that's building your ability to read sheet music, work on songwriting or play and improvise over your favourite songs. I have the experience and know-how to get you to where you want to be!

Callum has been teaching my son for many years and has taken him through many of his grades already, with his lowest mark being 85% . He gets him through very efficiently but also makes sure that information is properly understood rather than just teaching his students just to pass an exam. Callum's also very talented at working songs out by ear, and has helped my son with plenty of his favourite songs as well.

Details

I personally prefer to operate on a fixed regular fee per month. This way you know exactly how much is coming out of your account each month! It will entitle you to 1 session on the same day and time each week. For example: Tuesdays at 16:45 for 30 minutes. Ad Hoc sessions can be arranged but will cost more per session than the fixed monthly rate. You can also pay annually to save more money if you would like :)
