About Erin
I hold a Master’s degree in Piano Performance and have eight years of experience teaching students across various ages and skill levels. My teaching style is structured yet flexible, allowing learners to build discipline while enjoying a supportive and inspiring atmosphere. In addition to teaching, I remain active as a performer and continually study new teaching approaches. Staying engaged in the music world helps me bring fresh insights, modern methods, and real performance experience into my lessons, keeping them both relevant and motivating. What I value most is guiding students to express themselves through music. I adapt lessons to individual strengths and challenges, celebrating achievements and encouraging steady progress. My goal is to help students build not only skill but also confidence, creativity, and a lifelong passion for piano.

My lessons begin with building strong foundations in hand coordination, posture, and proper technique. Students practise scales, simple pieces, and sight-reading exercises that strengthen dexterity, rhythm, and musical fluency, giving them the confidence to progress towards more complex pieces and performance readiness. As students advance, I introduce music theory and ear training, helping them understand the structure behind the notes they play. This deeper knowledge allows learners to recognise patterns, interpret music more effectively, and develop the ability to approach new pieces with independence and creativity. Each session is adapted to the goals of the student, whether preparing for graded exams, learning classical works, or exploring contemporary repertoire. With clear feedback, step-by-step instruction, and steady encouragement, lessons provide not only technical growth but also enjoyment and long-lasting appreciation for music.
