About Martha
I am relatively early in my tutoring career, with four years of experience and 170 students taught so far, mostly younger learners exploring singing for the very first time. My own musical background includes informal performance experience and a genuine enthusiasm for helping beginners feel comfortable using their voice. My teaching style is playful and encouraging, and I use humor deliberately to reduce the nervousness many students feel about singing in front of another person. I particularly enjoy working with students who arrive convinced they simply cannot sing, since that belief almost always changes once early wins start building real confidence. Watching a shy beginner eventually sing comfortably in front of family remains one of the most rewarding parts of my early teaching career.

My singing lessons stay playful and low pressure, since most new students arrive nervous about using their voice in front of someone else for the very first time. I introduce breathing and posture through simple games and exercises rather than formal technical explanations, keeping the early experience genuinely enjoyable. Songs are chosen together with the student, prioritising material they already love, since real enthusiasm consistently produces more home practice than assigned repertoire. I record short audio clips during lessons so students can hear their own progress, which builds confidence more effectively than verbal praise alone. Sessions stay energetic and encouraging throughout, with mistakes treated as a normal and expected part of learning rather than something to fear.
