I believe that my job as a tutor is to guide my students to achieving their potential. While I can simply provide material to help someone pass a single test or write a better essay, I believe it is also my responsibility to help people better themselves in the long run. This includes establishing life long thinking skills, insuring that students have the confidence to tackle any future academic or writing endeavor they face in the future. My job is not done until the student is sucessful on their own.
I am an undergraduate student at the College of the Holy Cross with a 3.58 GPA who has been on the Dean's List each semester. Currently, I serve as the Chief News Editor for The Spire, which is our school's newspaper. I have also spent six years working at Yawgoog Scout Reservation where I taught scouts valuable leadership, communication, and writing skills from personal experience. Prior to my college experience, I was a "We the People" state champion in Connecticut, President of my school's Model Congress club, and a Managing Editor for the high school paper. Each of these experiences came with valuable teaching opportunities, whether that be directly through classes or guiding my eventual replacements.
