About Dhruva
I am a physics researcher and educator and computing expert by day, and have been teaching for decades.
Pool is my only hobby, and is so many different things to me depending on my state of mind. It can be a vehicle to "achieve" goals (the fun is in the winning!), it can be a medium to enter into a "meditative" state (become the cue ball!), a great way to hang out and have "fun" with friends (APA, baby!), a natural stress and anxiety reliever ("bang balls"), and everything in between!
I started as an APA SL4, and am now an APA SL7/9, have captained several APA teams to Vegas (my teams made it three times in a row!), and trained many beginners and mid-advanced players along the way.
Due to my technical background, I am able to discern exactly what of the vast amounts of information available online is applicable to your game, and have developed various sensor based stroke testing mechanics that add a data-based layer of game awareness, and specialized drills for different situations.
I love learning in general (hence I love to teach!) - and learning pool is also a great way to learn things about oneself - and a fun way at that!

Over ten years experience of mentoring several beginners in APA and BCA.
My teams qualified for the World Championships in Vegas for multiple years.
I am a physicist and engineer by training so know the science behind the game too!
Pool is a matter of what your ego wants you to do, what your nerves will let you do, and what your brain tells you what you should do. - Robert Byrne
Step 1: identify goals - why do you play pool ? Everyone has different reasons. And everyone enjoys different aspects of the game. What does it mean to you? And what do you want out of the game? And how can coaching help achieve that?
Step 2: Identify current state: the good, the bad, the ugly and establish routines to enhance the good, minimize the bad, and get rid of the ugly, based on available time and goals.
Step 3: Measure, measure, measure! Data is truth (mostly). Specialized accelerometer based stroke testing. Specialized drills for different situations. Find your new (and true!) skill level!
Step 4: Go back to the start. Rinse and repeat!
