About Miriam

I am a Portuguese native speaker living in London for the last 11 years. BA(Hons) graduate in Tourism Management and Master in International Business. I am highly interested in languages and cultures. Fully qualified TEFL Teacher with 4 years of experience teaching Portuguese to all levels (mostly one-to-one) but happy to do group classes.

About the lesson

I mainly use an audio-visual approach, depending on the level of the student. I will focus on the needs of the student such as the vocabulary, pronunciation, speaking, and grammar. I tend to use fun and interactive approaches that enhance the motivation of students and that are handy for the future. E.g. if a student wants to learn basic communication words, they can expect to learn how to introduce themselves, the key words when ordering drinks/meals/taxis, purchasing a train ticket, flight ticket, main temporal forms and so on.

I think the biggest strength of Elaine is her willingness to learn. It helps the fact that she is familiarised with the language, she know some words and can recognise some vocabulary.
