About Andrew
I'm a big believer in equitable and restorative pedagogy: everyone can excel and it takes love and kindness, on top of content expertise, to get there. I have some experience teaching high school students, but my real dream is to become a college professor, and I have two years of graduate teaching assistantship experience. I have an undergraduate degree in linguistics, a master's degree in Latin, and am pursuing post-baccalaureate study in linguistics at Columbia University. I'm bringing kindness to everyone in my classroom and I'm looking forward to learning together.

Much of my training is in LOTE (languages other than English) method, but the scaffolds and protocols I use are transferable to all other linguistic pedagogies and, in fact, tend to facilitate learning more effectively than the old, sage-on-a-stage format that most undergraduate students experience in those huge lecture halls. My content expertise is in Latin, prosody & metrics, and phonology. Unlike other tutors you may encounter here, I'm a state-certified educator and use tried-and-true teaching methodologies to make your learning work.
