About Dirk

Holding a Bachelor of Arts in Modern Music from Los Angeles College of Music, I find that the most rigid structures often create the most chaotic results. My 4 years of experience have taught me that watching someone finally catch an idea they have been circling for weeks is the ultimate goal. I specialize in visual and kinesthetic methods for ADHD and autism, focusing on scales, modes, and improvisation.

Because I show the thinking out loud, I include the dead ends and the messy process of learning. I have worked with many students who thrive when they see that mistakes are just part of the map. Success for me looks like you solving something I never showed you.

7.0 is the target scale of focus for our monthly recorded reviews of your progress. Tracking your growth visually helps you see how far your chord transitions have come.

I focus on ear training and reading sheet music by breaking tasks into tiny, manageable chunks. Grade exam prep happens through clear steps that respect your unique way of processing information.

You will find that music theory becomes a tool you use rather than a rule you follow. I prioritize consistency over intensity to keep the momentum moving forward.

We adjust the path based on what feels right for your brain that day. You gain clarity by documenting every shift in your playing style. This feedback loop keeps us grounded in reality while keeping the fun alive.
