I am an 8th grade middle school teacher from Atlanta, GA. Even though I am currently working in middle school, most of my experience has been in high school, so I am equipped to teach a diverse age range. I have also worked with every kind of student, ranging from students with learning challenges to students in advanced placement. How can I help you?

My teaching methods can be tweaked for a wide array of ability levels. Whether you are in need of assistance beginning an essay or you are a strong writer with a desire to sharpen your skills, I am happy to help.
There are two types of lessons that I engage with often:
1. Teaching and demonstrating a concept (theme, foreshadowing, characterization, etc.) and then doing a close reading of a text together. There would then be a short activity to practice and demonstrate understanding.
2. A student may be grappling with a specific writing task (research, writing an essay, etc). For a lesson like this, I would break a daunting task down into a series of more manageable tasks. For instance, if a student if researching a particular topic for an essay, I would demonstrate how to use efficient research methods before any writing would take place.
While these are typical scenarios I encounter, I am prepared to tackle something new and am to meet students where they are at!
