About Yimo
Hello! My name is Yimo, and I am a Statistics student at the University of Alberta. I am passionate about helping students build confidence in mathematics and academic learning.
I have experience supporting classmates and junior students with BC Calculus 12 and university-level mathematics, including Math 154. In addition, I have volunteered with the University of Alberta English Language School (ELS), where I helped international students improve their communication skills and adjust to university life.
I was also invited to deliver presentations and participate as a guest speaker in EAP classes, where I shared study strategies and university learning experiences with students.
I am patient, friendly, and supportive, and I always try to explain concepts in a clear and approachable way. My goal is not only to help students solve problems, but also to help them feel more confident and motivated in their learning.
I look forward to supporting your academic success!

My name is Nemo. Now I am the second-year Statistics student at the University of Alberta. In high school and university, I have tutored Pre-Calculus and Introductory Calculus.
My teaching methodology is trying to help students not memorize formulas mechanically and help them do questions in a logical way. For example, when I am explaining how to solve limits, I ask them to plug in first. If plugging in does not work, then try to use algebra: rationalize, factor,...... If these methods do not work, then try some advanced methods like L'Hôpital's Rule.
As a student who studies Mathematical and Statistical Sciences, I know many people will make mistakes when they study many theorems because they only know the results without knowing the conditions. So when I explain theorems, for instance, The Mean Value Theorem, I will tell them to check the continuity and differentiability first. So, I want to focus on tutoring high school students about Pre-Calculus and introductory Calculus.

He is a very good tutor. He always prepares before teaching me and works very hard. His notes are also very clear and easy to understand. After he explains the material, my understanding and thinking become much clearer. He is patient when teaching and has a very organized way of explaining things. I highly recommend him as a tutor.
