About Katelyn
Hi, my name is Katelyn! I have my Bachelor of Science degree focused in Biology and Premedical preparations along with Chemistry, Human Development and Human Humanities. I graduated within the top 10 of my university and with Magna Cum Laude along with many other honors. I am an experienced tutor and supplemental instructor for K-12 and University level courses. I have been tutoring a vast array of courses for 7+ years and have developed helpful strategies and engaging activities to better recall of topics, assist in explanations, and to help students apply knowledge. I truly believe that every student can be successful and that it takes strength to seek assistance when something is a little harder to understand! I utilize comprehensive and collaborative tutoring methods that are grade appropriate, in which I gain an understanding of learning style to personalize lessons for the student’s benefit. There are lots of discussions based off of the student’s current knowledge to further build on explanations and application bases. I typically begin by listening to the student’s current understanding and an explanation from their viewpoint followed by structured building block questions, examples, and collaborative explanations. I always will provide explanations in different ways and include active recall strategies for better recall. I truly care about your or your student’s success and will guide you along the way so that you will be able to succeed on your own when needed. These lessons can be tailored for K-12 or University level students over a variety of courses including biology, chemistry, math, English, writing, psychology, sociology, anatomy, physiology, physics, etc.

Details
My beginning rate is $35 an hour for sessions. If the student would like resources outside of the session or more help out of session hours, the hourly rate can be discussed to accommodate higher needs. In-person sessions are more due to transportation and parking costs.
