About Tha_
I'm a dedicated, academically driven individual who takes pride in learning, teaching, and helping others reach their potential. Throughout my academic journey, I've earned recognition for my achievements, including a perfect score in the Indiana Spell Bowl regional competition, a first-place team finish in my division, and leadership as captain of my school's Ethics Bowl team.
Beyond competitions, I've worked as a peer tutor in my school's Writing Center, helping students strengthen their writing and develop their skills through individualized support. I've also spent over a decade helping teach my younger brother, which has taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and adapting explanations to different learning styles.
My experiences as a tutor, student leader, and academic competitor have helped me develop strong communication, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills. I enjoy breaking down challenging concepts, exploring different approaches to a problem, and helping others become more confident in what they can accomplish.

My teaching philosophy emphasizes strategy, critical thinking, and efficient study systems over memorization. As a Biomedical Science student who attended Indiana's #1 public high school and began taking college courses as a freshman in high school, I understand how to succeed in rigorous academic environments. Lessons are personalized to each student's goals and typically combine content mastery, test-taking techniques, time management, and analytical skills. I tutor SAT Reading & Writing, Biology, Chemistry, AP/Honors English, History, essay writing, and introductory college English courses. My lessons are ideal for motivated middle school, high school, AP, Honors, dual-credit, and college students seeking stronger grades, higher test scores, and long-term academic success.
