About Pouné
I’m Pouné, a National Mathematics Olympiad bronze medallist.
I earned a 4.0 GPA during my electrical engineering studies at the University of Tehran and am currently completing prerequisite coursework at McGill University in preparation for applying to medical school.
I have served as a teaching assistant for +3 university-level courses continuously for over 4 semesters, including Differential Equations, Calculus I&II, Electromagnetism, and Advanced Engineering Mathematics (Which covers complex numbers and complex analysis, Fourier series, Laplace and Fourier transforms, partial differential equations) . I have also tutored mathematics and conducted research involving mathematical modelling, computational methods, and applications of mathematics to engineering and scientific problems. These experiences have helped me connect mathematical theory with practical applications and explain complex ideas clearly.
What draws me to mathematics is understanding why things work: why a theorem holds, how different concepts connect, and how a few fundamental principles can be used to solve seemingly unfamiliar problems. That curiosity shapes my teaching. I want students to understand the reasoning well enough to approach challenging questions with confidence.

My lessons focus on helping you understand the reasoning behind mathematics and develop a clear approach to solving problems. Drawing on my electrical engineering background and university teaching experience, I connect abstract concepts with practical examples so that each method makes sense.
I offer support in algebra, functions, trigonometry, Calculus I and II, differential equations, and advanced engineering mathematics, including complex analysis, Fourier series, Laplace and Fourier transforms, and partial differential equations.
Each lesson is adapted to your course, goals, and current understanding. We identify gaps, break difficult concepts into manageable steps, and work through carefully chosen examples. You then practise applying the ideas yourself, with feedback on your reasoning, calculations, and presentation.
For exam preparation, we focus on recognizing problem types, choosing suitable methods, and checking your answers. For assignments, I guide you through the reasoning so you can develop and explain your own solutions.
Questions are always welcome, they are the only way to know the answer. My goal is for you to leave each lesson with clearer understanding and greater confidence in tackling unfamiliar problems independently.
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
She is very knowledgeable and has her unique style of teaching, which is really effective. She goes above and beyond for her students to make sure they have learned every aspect. Once, I was really nervous for my organic chemistry final. I had 3 sessions with her before my exam, during which she patiently reviewed the topics thoroughly, and then we worked on possible questions that might come up in the actual exam, which was actually pretty accurate. I passed the course, my final score being 92/100, all thanks to her dedication and commitment. No need to say that she is highly recommended, and you will be in very good hands!
Highly recommend her for both Chemistry and Math. She’s knowledgeable and explains difficult concepts in a simple way. I would definitely recommend her.
I highly recommend Poune as an English tutor. Her teaching style is clear, patient, and adaptable, making lessons both engaging and effective. She takes the time to understand your level and goals, and then tailors the lessons accordingly.
Beyond teaching, she is friendly, reliable, and genuinely invested in her students’ progress. If you’re looking for a dedicated and supportive English teacher, Poune is an excellent choice.View more recommendations
