About Charlie
I am about to enrol in Durham University to study Engineering having achieved an A* in A-Level Maths a year early, and A* in Further maths and physics A-level, also and A in Chemistry.
For a year, I have been teaching my Cousin Maths at GCSE level, She is in year 9 so has yet to take the exam, but has received a commendation from her school for improvement in maths.

I think that a lot of students finish their GCSE mathematics education without any real understanding of what is going on, for example they may be able to recite the infamous quadratic formula, but have no idea where it comes from. That is why I think it is important to spend a significant amount of time working up to concepts to really give students an intuitive understanding for why a certain method makes sense.
