About Preston
With 19+ years of professional experience as a Saxophone tutor, I have worked with approximately 150 students and helped them achieve meaningful musical progress. I teach students of all levels and enjoy guiding them through every stage of learning.
My tutoring style is supportive, flexible, and goal-oriented. I take time to understand each student’s needs and design lessons that suit their abilities and interests. I believe encouragement and patience play a key role in successful music education.
I focus on developing a strong technical foundation, including proper breathing, embouchure control, tone quality, finger coordination, and timing. As students advance, I introduce expressive techniques, improvisation, and performance skills.
Alongside saxophone lessons, I also provide instruction in music theory, sight-reading, and rhythm studies. My aim is to help students enjoy learning while building skills that support long-term musical growth.

I teach Saxophone using a structured, student-centered approach guided by Communication, Accountability, and Integrity. I begin by assessing each student’s current level and musical goals to design personalized lessons. I focus on breath control, tone clarity, articulation accuracy, finger coordination, and rhythm precision.
Open communication encourages students to ask questions and build confidence. Weekly practice assignments and measurable targets maintain accountability and steady progress. I monitor improvement closely and adjust lessons when needed. Integrity ensures honest guidance and professional instruction.
Along with Saxophone, I also teach Music Theory, Jazz fundamentals, Harmony concepts, and Performance preparation.
