Joel is one of our best Adobe Premiere Pro tutors. They have a high-quality profile, verified qualifications, a quick response time, and great reviews from students!

About Joel

Hey there!

My name is Joel and I've been producing professional video content for the past 8 years and teaching video production for the last year.

As a freelance videographer, I've created hours of content for universities, non-profits and individual clients including commercials, documentaries, and event highlights. I have also worked on several YouTube channels, from wildlife vlogging to LEGO stop-motion to Fortnite content creation. In 2016, I won a Disney sponsored Star Wars contest for a short film I made. Ask me about my trip to Lucasfilm in San Francisco!

My passion is helping creators overcome the software learning curve and teaching the editing skills they need to reach a wider audience. I'm also perfectly happy jumping on a call to do a little technical troubleshooting or template installation.

My editing software of choice is Adobe Premiere Pro. Recently, I continued my Premiere Pro education with a course from UCLA. The class developed my technical expertise and gave me insight into professional editing in Hollywood.

If you're not quite ready for Pro, I also teach Premiere Elements, Premiere Rush, iMovie, and a variety of free-to-use editing platforms.

If you're interested in starting a YouTube channel or looking to grow your audience, I have worked with a number of clients to develop their skillset, discover what makes them stand out from other channels, and implement the best practices for growth.

Looking for help with your new camera? I have experience with Sony, Canon, Nikon, GoPro, and Blackmagic camera systems and would be happy to pass on some tips and tricks for recording quality audio and setting up good lighting.

About the lesson

What a typical lesson looks like:
Most clients bring a list of questions based on the videos they want to create. But if you prefer, I'm happy to go through Premiere Pro from the ground up.

Using Zoom, we are able to have real-time conversation and with Remote Desktop, I can interact with your computer to explain which button does what.

My philosophy of teaching:
People generally remember 10% of what they hear, 30% of what they see, and 75% of what they do.

That basically just means, I like to give clients plenty of opportunities to actually practice the skills we cover. I find teaching is most effective when an instructor lets you get in there and practice yourself.

That said, I've worked with a broad range of learning styles from students age 6 to 65. So just let me know what works for you and I will happily accommodate.

If I sound like a good match, I look forward to hearing from you!

Perfect! Joel is super super patient and he really wants YOU to learn. He helps direct and teach, rather than just doing it all for you. I have learned so much from our lessons - I have tons of notes and he let me record our sessions so I can refer back to them later. 10/10 recommend!

Perfect! Joel was great, he honored the promoted '1st lesson for free' This was really appreciated because I only need a quick 20-30 min first lesson. He was very knowledgeable, helpful and able to solve the issue I was having trouble with. I would definitely recommend Joel to anyone needing help with Adobe Premiere Pro.

I've Been getting lessons from Joel since a few months now with video editing in Premiere Pro. He is proficient in all aspects. I can say is he's extremely patient, very experienced, and he takes the time to listen to your ideas and needs. I started as a novice and now I'm confident enough that other people have been asking me to do their videos. Anthony (Ireland)
