About Scott
I call myself "The Consulting Futurist", inspired by Sherlock Holmes’ role as the Consulting Detective. Just as Holmes helped clients make sense of hidden clues, my role is to help organisations make sense of emerging science and technology so they and their people can thrive. I don’t predict the future, I give organisations the tools to create it. Through keynote experiences, workshops, and coaching, I turn complexity into clarity, fear into curiosity, and hype into practical ideas for action. Audiences describe my talks as: “Like an episode of Black Mirror with a happy ending.” “A modern-day Jules Verne.” “The Brian Cox of business who maintains the curiosity of a child.” For over 25 years, I’ve worked with more than 200 organisations worldwide, from the Olympic Games and the Ministry of Defence to Amazon and Microsoft, helping leaders and teams rethink how they work, lead, and innovate. Core Focus Areas: • Future Literacy and the Perennial Mindset — turning uncertainty into foresight and anxiety into hope • Seven Wonders of the Future — making sense of AI, biotech, nanotech, and beyond • Storytelling and Communication — why stories matter more than facts in the post-AI world • Disruptive Workplaces — how to lead, adapt, and thrive when the rules are being rewritten I also care deeply about learning and inclusion. Alongside my keynote and consulting work, I mentor and teach at Oxford, Cranfield, and Moreton Morrell College, supporting students with diverse and neurodiverse brains. Helping people who think differently to find confidence and thrive is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do. I draw on a background spanning science, HR, the arts, and consulting to offer something different: evidence-based insight, powerful storytelling, and practical tools people remember and apply.

People book me as a keynote speaker and coach because my presentations are 4D. When you step on stage, you won't just deliver a talk, you will create an EXPERIENCE. My SHIFT approach blends Spectacle to captivate, Humour to connect, and Insights to equip people with practical tools. With careful Flow that carries the audience on a journey, the goal is always Transformation, leaving people not just informed but changed, inspired, and ready to act. Death by PowerPoint or Dizzy Prezi are NOT something you will EVER do! Your materials will be carefully curated and designed to build understanding and to make an impact with the audience.

I've known Scott since 2018, when we spoke on the same TEDx stage.
Scott has a unique ability to connect the dots between complex topics and to convey them in ways that are easy to grasp and apply in the real world.
He does this with grace and humour, enabling those learning from him to progress quickly and easily, whatever their ability and stage of development.
Scott is a highly experienced public speaker keynoting for large corporates and at more specialised events.
I recommend Scott to other Superprof members without hesitation. You'll be glad you made the connection. Your event will be richer and more memorable for it.I met Scott about 15 years ago when he was a consultant helping us to develop and embed our business strategy across our organisation and I've been a big fan ever since. He wasn't there to teach us - but I learned a huge amount from him. Scott has a style that is extremely engaging. He is thought provoking and delivers insights that help you see and understand things in a way that wakes you up and stays with you. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
“There are these two young fish swimming along, and they happen to meet an older fish swimming the other way, who nods at them and says “Morning, boys. How’s the water?” And the two young fish swim on for a bit, and then eventually one of them looks over at the other and goes “What the hell is water?”
Scott McArthur helps people to see the water.
