About SJ
I am SJ Geng, a Chinese Ph.D. student who is a sponsored researcher at Imperial College London. I majored in engineering mechanics and got a bachelor's degree in engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, a top-3 university in China. My current research is about the atmospheric entry of meteoroids that are very likely to impact our planet. There are several reasons why I would like to be a tutor. The main reason is that I hope my skills in studying can help students who are struggling to learn and help them to be more confident. Of course, I also hope to further improve my English communication skills (I am confident that I can explain problems very clearly) and make some money. Moreover, I do have patience and a strong sense of empathy. Hope to get along well with you.

Generally, I teach online with prepared slides. I enjoy explaining abstract definitions and concepts in a concrete way, that is, by trying to combine the physical meanings with those abstract terms. The typical length of one lesson is an hour, but the length is flexible and can be adjusted according to the situation of different students. I used to teach maths to Chinese high school students for one year in my spare time and I got great feedback. English is not a problem for me, since I have been learning English for over 12 years and I am currently a sponsored researcher at Imperial College London. I mainly teach maths and physics. Technically, I can handle any pre-college levels of related subjects (algebra, geometry, physics, etc.)
