About Luken
As a Trumpet tutor with 19 years of teaching and work experience, I believe every student deserves the opportunity to learn in a positive and encouraging environment. Helping school and college students succeed through music is both my profession and my passion.
My lessons include breathing techniques, posture correction, embouchure development, articulation, tone quality, rhythm, scales, music reading, ear training, music theory, and performance coaching. I adapt every lesson to match each student's needs, making learning both effective and enjoyable.
One of the most rewarding achievements in my career has been seeing students build the confidence to perform in front of audiences. Their success inspires me to continue supporting learners with patience and dedication.
I encourage students to stay motivated, practise consistently, and believe in their abilities. My classroom values respect, curiosity, and continuous improvement.
Teaching gives me the opportunity to make a positive impact on students' lives. My mission is to help every learner become a confident trumpet player while developing skills that will benefit them far beyond music.

My teaching approach for Trumpet is focused on helping students build strong musical skills while developing confidence and creativity. I use Communication as an important part of my methodology to explain concepts clearly and create a supportive learning environment.
I understand that every student has a different learning style, so I use Adaptation to Learning Styles to customise lessons according to their goals, experience, and progress. I include Real-life examples and case studies from professional trumpet players, concerts, orchestras, and bands to help students understand how techniques are used in practical situations.
Along with Trumpet, I also teach related subjects such as Music Theory, Ear Training, Sight Reading, Rhythm Training, Improvisation, and Performance Skills. My lessons cover breathing techniques, tone development, articulation, finger techniques, musical expression, and stage confidence.
I aim to make every lesson engaging and meaningful while helping students become skilled, disciplined, and passionate musicians.
