About Allie
Having loved English for at least the past 10 years of my life, my passion led me to applying to PGCE teaching programmes in Secondary English, which I hope to begin in September 2027!
My teaching background primarily comes from swimming instruction, however I've also worked as a summer camp counsellor and a children's activity specialist, so I have plenty of experience working with children ages 4-16 from the past 5 years.
Outside of teaching, I love to crochet, sketch and scrapbook. I am a person whose every hobby centres around the creative arts! I love watching movies, going to the theatre to see shows, getting stuck into a good book, and dedicating myself to creating and experiencing art!

The lessons I deliver focus on explanation and refinement, as well as practice exercises. Slowing down concepts and finding new ways to help students grasp them is where I shine.
I support this by using a primarily discussion then demonstration approach, to break down learning for your own pace. I also ask that students bring me previous examples of their work, in order to determine their exact areas of improvement.
I achieved a 7 in English Literature at GCSE, and a B+ in English Literature at A-Level, so I am well experienced within the subject!
