About Melissa
I am a Primary Education student living in Surrey and have tutored individually for a variety of pupils mainly in maths and geography. One student of mine was achieving a C/low B in maths and has since gone on to achieve a 98% on her maths GCSE. I can tutor up to GCSE Maths and up to A-Level Geography.

The first lesson we will have will mainly be talking to you about where you are in the subject, what your strengths and weaknesses are and any questions or concerns that you may have. From there I will ask a few questions about you and how you prefer to learn, whether that's images, movement, games, construction etc. In that first, free session I will give you an overview of what the sessions will look like, how they'll be structured and in what sort of order the lessons will go in. Before the next session I will construct a full lesson plan on how we can achieve your goal, whether that is a pass or an A. Generally the structure of a lesson will be that at the beginning we'll catch up and see how you've been getting on since I last saw you. My teaching approach during the main part of the lesson will vary widely depending on how you best retain and understand information, however it will most likely involve using physical objects and representations where possible along with images and walking you through the process step-by-step. This will depend on the subject area of focus, and your learning strategies.
