About HELEN
I am a qualified primary school teacher, with more than 29 years of experience as a class teacher. I have also held a number of senior positions, such as Acting Deputy Head and Phase Leader for EYFS and KS1.
I have taught in a wide variety of large and small schools in London and Essex. I left my last teaching post in April 2023 and have continued to work in local schools as a supply/substitute teacher.
I am passionate about teaching, and tutoring allows me the privilege of working with students to help them reach their potential.

I consider myself to be a kind, patient and caring person, and it’s very important to me to build trust and strong relationships with my students and their families. I encourage them to become confident life-long learners who aren’t afraid to take risks in their learning and to develop a growth mindset.
I am an advocate for mental health and wellbeing, and enjoy using mindfulness alongside fun, active and engaging activities.
I personalise my lesson plans to include students’ interests and their needs.
