About Eilidh

I'm currently finishing my 2nd year studying Primary Teaching at University and have completed teaching placements in both mainstream and special schools. I have worked with children aged between 4 and 11 and supported them in all areas of the primary curriculum.

About the lesson

As I can focus on any subjects within the primary curriculum (from English and Maths to Geography, Art and Computing and everything in between), I let the child's needs dictate my teaching approaches. This diversity in my approach ensures that my teaching style and content meets the need of the pupil is met. For example, if the child needs help with their maths, I look at their areas of strength and their areas of improvement and work to progress them in the most beneficial way to them.

I feel this child centred approach is the most effective as it means that the child gets the best support that's tailored to them, regardless of their needs. I have experience of working with children with a number of different needs and have been able to work with them to help them to progress their learning.

Furthermore, as I am currently studying to become a primary school teacher, I am being taught the best practice for teaching each of the different curriculum subjects helping to ensure that my teaching is as effective and up to date as possible.
