About Hila
I tutored middle school and high school students in math and english for four years and have vast experience mentoring and collaborating with them to help them reach their goals.
After being a high-achieving student my entire life, I know the importance of rationalizing through problems, giving clear explanations, and reinforcing newly learned material.
A little bit about myself: I graduated with highest honors from Princeton University and completed the pre-medical track while earning a degree in Psychology and a minor in global health policy. I enjoy reading (particularly historical fiction) and pistachio ice cream!

I would describe my style of teaching as problem-based. I find tutoring to be the most effective when clear explanations are given to concrete problems, thereby reinforcing and applying broader concepts.
I find that the best way to learn complex material is to first attempt it, and then think through the problem with a tutor and address any gaps in knowledge. To ensure the material is learned, students should then attempt another problem that employs the same concept or way of thinking. That is the strategy I use with students to get the best results.
