About Mahdi
Chess has been my passion for years. I'm a FIDE-rated player (1700) and have competed at national and Asian championship level, placing 3rd nationally and 6th in Asia. I learned the game primarily through self-study, intensive practice, and years of tournament experience — analyzing thousands of games, studying classic and modern theory, and constantly testing myself against strong opposition.
Outside of competitive play, I enjoy helping others discover the same passion I have for chess. I believe anyone can learn to play well with the right guidance, patience, and structured practice — regardless of age or starting level. My teaching style focuses on making complex ideas simple and keeping lessons engaging, not just theoretical.
When I'm not playing or coaching, I stay active in the chess community by studying new openings, following top-level tournaments, and continuing to improve my own game.

Hi! I'm a chess coach with a FIDE rating of 1700. I placed 3rd nationally and 6th in Asia, and I'm also a provincial/state champion. I learned chess through years of serious competitive play, deep game analysis, and tournament experience — that hands-on background is what lets me break down complex ideas into simple, practical lessons.
In my lessons, you'll learn:
Basic rules and piece movement (for complete beginners)
Opening principles and building a repertoire that fits your style
Middlegame tactics and combinations
Endgame technique — converting equal or winning positions
Analyzing your own games with engine support to find weaknesses
Tournament preparation and how to start earning a FIDE rating
Lessons are tailored to the student's age and level (kids, teens, or adults; beginner to intermediate). Whether you just want to have fun or you're aiming to compete seriously, I'll meet you where you are.
