About Malick
My name is Malick, 27, from London and I am looking for opportunities to help children develop their English skills.
Currently I am a teaching assistant at the British School of Paris and will work to become a fully qualified English teacher next year. Due to my experience, I can provide fun, interactive and effective strategies to support children in the French, English and American systems.
My career so far has allowed me to work in the film industry, I have worked in documentary film, high-end film technology, public relations and theater. I have a master's degree in business and film production and I was lucky enough to attend the Cannes film festival. I was on the set of Star Wars and even acted in shorts and commercials. Despite this, I managed to use my free time to work with children who need extra support, before finally switching to education a few years ago. I'm also working on my own animated series and podcast as a hobby.
I have so many stories to tell and I use them to help my students, using my experiences as a tool to show them my own background despite English being my mother tongue.

My classes are designed to be fun and interactive. As I am currently working at school and will be training to become a teacher at the end of the year.
It is my belief that in order to learn you have to have fun. You need to feel comfortable and trust your educator enough to ask questions, this is the best way to learn. I like to adapt what I teach to the personality of the individual so that they better understand what they are taught. I like to use cinema, news and popular culture to get my teaching points across. It gives my students a bit of autonomy in the way they learn too, as they always have the freedom to suggest ideas.
Typically my classes are one hour long but I'm happy to do so. longer or shorter because I am flexible. In one-on-one tutoring, I have more than two years of experience in schools as a teacher and special education centers as a teaching assistant. I have worked with people from 11 to 23 years old. Currently I am working in a high school / sixth form and ages 11 - 18, however I am happy to work with children of primary age.
