About Ari
Hi, I'm Ari! I'm 30 years old and have a Bachelor's degree in music as well as several years experience teaching private guitar and music theory.
Although I studied music more formally in college, I started my journey in music learning from family, friends and youtube before finding mentors and tutors myself. While I was in college, I studied many styles and was a part of both contemporary, classical and jazz groups. In addition to teaching, I have played in various bands and worked on many music projects over the years.
With this background, I have the ability to help beginner and more advance students learn guitar, play multiple styles, and also learn more of the theory behind music if they're interested.
While my education has been in music, I have worked for several years in various non-profits, and have experience working with and managing after school programs for kids and youth. I have over 15 years of experience in tutoring, mentoring and facilitating workshops for kids ages 5-18yrs in addition to working with students who have learning differences.
Personally, I enjoy teaching privately because I get to work one on one with students and help them reach a level of proficiency where they are excited to learn and proud of their progress. My teaching style consists of listening to students and adapting sessions to how they learn best in order to help them meet their goals. I truly enjoy designing fun, engaging activities that challenge students at the appropriate skill level and help them develop confidence.

-Throughout my years of teaching experience, I've developed the ability to adapt and customize lessons to the students needs and design exercises or projects that are both challenging and engaging at the appropriate level.
-Initial sessions are a chance to identify the experience, learning style(s), preferences and goals of each student, and then determine how structured or flexible a lesson plan may need to be.
-I specialize in working with students in the beginner to intermediate level, including those with no music experience at all or those relearning guitar or transferring from another instrument.
-As a tutor, I am always learning myself and truly enjoy helping students connect with music and embrace the process of learning.
-I do my best to create a safe, respectful space to learn that encourages open and honest communication and collaboration.
