About Ewen

My attraction particularly marked for the mechanics led me to obtain a Technological Baccalaureate (STI) in mechanical engineering (mention Good, in 2007). The preparatory classes at the Grandes Ecoles TSI (Technology and Industrial Sciences) made me discover the musical acoustics and especially meet Bernard Bonin who guided me (and continues to help me) to make my first musical instruments to the using a mathematical formalism to describe how it works. This work was used later to design software for help with the bill of wind instruments, the Tutt software. Passionate about this field, I was given the opportunity to integrate ENSIM to become a general engineer specializing in "Acoustics and Vibrations". Innovative processes developed to manufacture fiberglass instruments allowed me to win my first "innovation prize" in 2010. The meeting with Etienne Gaviot, professor of thermodynamics and ethics in particular, opened the door to me. 'spirit to classical music. Having both suffered from our dyslexia to decipher music and our Dyspraxia for fine motor skills, we have reflected on the different biomechanical and pedagogical parameters that I always use in my class. At the end of my studies at ENSIM, I studied two semesters in Sweden (ERASMUS), at the Royal University of Stockholm known for its courses in acoustics and biomechanics. My internship at the end of engineering studies consisted of drawing a parallel between the propagation of blood flow waves in the arteries of the heart and the propagation of waves in stringed instruments. In 2012, I temporarily suspended my doctoral training project to integrate, for a year, an apprenticeship in violin making at Georges Sand High School in La Chatre. I wanted to continue with a year of training with various craftsmen that allowed me to acquire a solid background in the field of violin making traditional instruments. Winner of the Young Scholarship Bursaries in 2014, I am proposed to integrate the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris with a complementary training course in drawing and modeling in partnership with the Beaux Arts. Notions of Aesthetics, creation, innovation, multidisciplinarity: I only had to create my company Métiers d'Arts as Engineer-Luthier. Today, I balance perfectly my activity between the courses that I propose in Maths, Physics, but also in Music and Lutherie with my activity of creator of instrument. My students especially appreciate when I take examples of creation to explain Maths and Physics.

With a solid technical background at the Royal School of Stochkolm, as well as artistic skills at the Beaux Arts, I have no difficulty in giving concrete examples to my students to guide them in disciplines that they do not delay to appreciate !

Teacher reconized to teach to DYS profile people, I have many tools to meet the expectations of the most demotivated students by the school system. They quickly resume the desire to learn.
