Each lesson is delivered in 1-hour, following a 10-minute extra time for solving problems and reinforcing your understandings. During the class time, it is not just me explaining the topic, it is rather an engaging activity by me and you to ensure you are on the rail!

My teaching is based on patience, emphasising on the student's focus while preventing boredom. Furthermore, maintaining a positive mindset for the student, ensuring they remain enthusiastic and attentive, is a top priority in my teaching approach.

Find out more about Saeid

  • When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

Since my early university days, I have found teaching mathematics and physics highly rewarding, both for myself and for my students. I pursued this passion more professionally during my postgraduate studies in the United Kingdom, where I taught undergraduate students and helped them grasp complex mathematical concepts. Currently, I am engaged in both private and public teaching, delivering lectures to undergraduate students at Swinburne University of Technology and providing private tutoring for high school students.
  • Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

Almost everything related to science, especially mathematics and physics, captivates me. In my view, physics and mathematics are the two pillars supporting the sophisticated technologies we have today. I truly enjoy exploring, discussing, and continuously learning more about these subjects.
  • Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

My role model is Professor David Perreault. He is a well-known Professor of Electrical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). His teaching style, particularly the way he simplifies complex mathematical concepts into easily digestible pieces, has always been an inspiration to me, and I have learned a great deal from him.
  • What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

The most important factor, by far, is putting yourself in the student’s shoes. While a deep understanding of the concepts is essential, what truly distinguishes a tutor is the ability to convey that knowledge in a clear and accessible way. The second crucial factor is patience. There will be times when students struggle with complex material, and that’s completely normal. This is where the tutor’s patience becomes a game-changer.
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

During my school days, I wasn’t very confident in chemistry. One day, a younger student asked for my help with a specific topic. Initially, I wasn’t sure if I could teach it properly, but I committed to understanding the material thoroughly to help him as best I could. Surprisingly, I realized that in the process of teaching, my own understanding deepened. I call this the magic of teaching—it involves two learners: the one being taught and the one teaching.
  • What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or are still facing in your subject?

The most important aspect of teaching is tailoring the teaching approach to each individual. Over the years, I’ve learned to first assess my students’ knowledge levels and then tailor my teaching style accordingly. The way I teach one student may be entirely different from how I teach another, and I believe this flexibility is the key to ensuring smooth and effective learning for each student.
  • Do you have a particular passion?

Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different? Everything related to science sparks my curiosity and fuels my passion. I love finding out mathematical relations and seeing how impeccably our world works with mathematical rules. From talking over our smartphones, to driving our cars, to flying on our planes, all these flawless phenomena are established on the concrete pillars of mathematics, which never fails.
  • What makes you a Superprof?

Through years of university teaching, publishing in prestigious international journals, and engaging in various scientific fields, I have developed a deep understanding of complex mathematical concepts. Of course, the world of science is boundless—the more you learn, the more you realize how much remains unexplored. What I truly enjoy, however, is applying my knowledge in everyday life, whether it’s writing an academic article or tutoring high school students. I love mathematics, and I love teaching it even more.
