About Tahira

Math and Physics were not subjects I naturally excelled in. I struggled with both, and for a long time I avoided them. What changed my relationship with them entirely was going back to the basics, the foundational ideas that most lessons skip over, and working upward from there, turning my disdain into genuine interest.

That experience is the reason I tutor the way I do. I know exactly what it feels like to sit in front of a question and have no idea where to begin and I know what it takes to get from that point to confidence.

Being a recent graduate myself, I have since worked with students across different ages and levels, building a clear picture of where students most commonly struggle and what it takes to move past those sticking points. Sessions are built around real understanding: I break concepts down to their roots, work through problems live on a shared whiteboard so the thinking is fully visible, and use structured past paper practice to develop both fluency and exam technique.

Everyone has different levels, I'll meet you where you are and guide you to the top.

About the lesson

My lessons are one hour long, with the option to extend for students who want more practice time. I focus on building real understanding, not just getting to the right answer, but knowing why it works so students can handle questions they've never seen before.

I start by breaking concepts down into their foundations and rebuilding from there. Following it with past paper questions organised by topics to build familiarity with the exam style, and I work through problems live on a shared whiteboard so students can see the thinking process in real time. I always encourage students to talk through their thinking out loud since that's usually where we catch the gaps.

Having studied A-Level Maths and Physics myself, and also teaching it, I know exactly where students tend to get stuck and why. I tailor each session to what the student actually needs that day.
