About Tom
Tom holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Slippery Rock University and a Master’s degree in Euphonium Performance with a minor in Music & Medicine from the University of North Texas, having studied under world-class mentors Dr. Brian Meixner, Dr. Brian Bowman, and Dr. John Tranter.
As a performer, Tom has been a featured soloist with the U.S. Air Force Band of the West, the U.S. Air Force Band of the Golden West, and the Butler County Symphony Orchestra, where he premiered Stephen Barr’s "Penumbra." His credits also include recording “When Jesus Wept” from William Schuman’s "New England Triptych," and performing at The U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own” Tuba-Euphonium Workshop in Washington, DC. Combining his performance background with a specialized focus in performing arts medicine, Tom also presented his research, “An International Epidemiological Survey of Euphonium Musicians,” at the 32nd Annual Performing Arts Medicine Association Symposium in Snowmass, CO.
