About Shane

My voice lessons are rooted in the belief that everyone can sing — and everyone deserves a learning experience that makes them feel respected, inspired, and confident. Whether you're singing for fun, personal growth, or a professional goal, I meet you with a personalized, adaptable approach. Each lesson is shaped around your voice, your pace, and the music you love. We work on developing healthy technique — things like breathing, tone, pitch, resonance, and range — but I also focus on the emotional and creative side of singing. I use fun, imaginative methods like role-playing, movement, storytelling, and vocal improvisation to keep you engaged and open to trying new things. If you're nervous or shy, you’ll find that I’m gentle, encouraging, and non-judgmental. My goal is to help you build trust in your voice and to see progress without stress. You’ll leave each session with a clear takeaway and a practical plan for what to work on during the week. I’m also here to support your growth in related areas like harmony, rhythm, musical understanding, and performance confidence. If you're preparing for a show, recording, or big audition, I can help you polish your material and feel stage-ready. But if you’re here simply to explore and enjoy music, that’s equally valuable. Whatever your journey, I’m committed to helping you feel strong, expressive, and free in your singing.

About the lesson

My teaching methodology centers around four core pillars: Communication, Creativity, Cultural Sensitivity, and Accountability. I believe singing is not just a skill—it's a form of emotional communication. In my sessions, I create a safe space where students feel confident expressing their voice and identity through song.

Communication is key: I actively listen to students’ needs and adapt lessons accordingly. Whether you're a beginner learning pitch and rhythm or a performer refining your vocal tone and presence, I offer clear, actionable feedback in every session.

Creativity fuels our progress. I use personalized vocal exercises, improvisation tasks, and songwriting elements to keep learning exciting. Every voice is unique, and I help students discover their signature sound through experimentation and artistic exploration.

Cultural Sensitivity plays a vital role in selecting diverse repertoire and respecting different musical traditions. From classical to contemporary genres, I ensure students appreciate the context and history behind what they sing, enhancing their performance depth and awareness.

Lastly, Accountability shapes growth. I provide structured vocal goals, track progress, and help students build consistent habits. Singing is a journey, and I make sure students feel supported and challenged at every step.

In addition to vocal training, I also teach relevant subjects such as performance techniques, basic music theory, stage presence, and ear training. My holistic approach prepares students not only to sing but to perform and connect.
