About Matt

At his core, he's a singer-songwriter who's obsessed with producing music, developing artists, and collaborating with industry innovators. He started out singing at age 6 as a chorister performing in New College Oxford's International Choir. From this classical music background, he adapted to learn many other contemporary genres like Soul, Funk, Pop, Jazz, Electronic, and even Latin. Whilst completing a Master's in Music Production in his early 20's he formed a band that gigged and recorded music in the North of England. He then moved to work in a group of London production studios where he recorded vocalists and represented the studio as an A&R. Since then he moved to develop his own business and career as an artist coach & songwriter. He joined VIP to expand his network and also his understanding of vocology. Like many other members, he's fascinated with the voice and wants to develop a network of like-minded professionals. After a short career break, he took time off to travel and work overseas, finding a second home in Los Angeles as well as in London.

About the lesson

I am offering 60-minute online and in-person voice coaching, artist development or music tutoring. Based in Central London, UK but also offering work with people internationally. Can coach you on a variety of styles pop, rock, funk, soul, indie, and folk. I have experience in performing as well as in production/studio including session work and writing music. • Authorised and Licensed Professional Voice Coach with one of the world's leading independent elite voice communities, Vocology in Practice (VIP) as well as BAST training. • In 2015 completed a Master's MA programme in Music Production and have an extensive background in Performing Arts including multiple scholarships. • 5 years of professional experience developing singers and songwriters. Both privately and with colleges or academies. • Coached 20+ trainees as a 1-2-1 peripatetic voice trainer at East London Academy of Music (ELAM) for 2 years. • Run my own artist development business and develop, train and advise emerging artists on taking their first steps into the industry, Music Alignment. Have worked in recording studios in London helping artists record and produce their debut EPs. Over 20 years of experience as a singer with a strong background in classical singing as a chorister at New College Oxford Choir. As well as more contemporary experience with a band performing in the north of England and releasing music before moving to London.
