About Jade

Being half Japanese but born in America I grew up with a multifaceted fascination with both cultures. My path as an artist and teacher has come from a fusion of Japanese and Western art inspirations, spurred by my desire to bring to life my own characters and fantasy worlds.

In my free time (when I’m not drawing) you’ll find me either, watching anime, playing video games, practicing martial arts, or dancing Salsa.

I’m easy going, patient, and inquisitive. I aim to meet each student where they are at skill and goal wise, and facilitate their growth as an artist through well paced, and dynamic lesson plans.

I graduated with a BFA in fine arts, and have worked 10+ years as an artist and drawing/painting mentor.

Through my own journey of learning how to draw and paint, I’ve come up with my own methods of streamlining the art learning process.

About the lesson

Hi my name is Jade and l will be your artist mentor! From fantastical concept art to realistic portraiture or landscapes, I cover a range of styles and methods of learning tailored to helping you create the art piece you have always dreamed of making. Perhaps you don’t know where to start, or even what materials to use, or even how to draw people or landscapes. I’m here to teach you all the technical skill, as well all the conceptual and compositional skills needed to make your art piece.

All ages and skill levels welcome! Whether you want to discover your own creative power or develop the ones you already have, I’ll be sharing over a decade of my experience with you.

Lessons take place over Zoom, where I’ll be working in Procreate and live sharing my screen to demonstrate a variety of ideas and techniques.
