About Rui
I’m Rui Cruz, a Brazilian professional ballet dancer currently dancing with BalletX in Philadelphia. Before joining BalletX, I spent five seasons with Miami City Ballet, where I performed a wide range of classical and contemporary repertoire.
My journey in dance began in Brazil, and from a young age I had the opportunity to train, compete, and perform internationally. I was a finalist at the Prix de Lausanne, where I received the Contemporary Dance Award from the Minerva Kunststiftung, and I have also received recognition at national and international dance competitions.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with renowned choreographers, teachers, and artists, experiences that have shaped not only my technique but also my approach to artistry and performance.
Teaching is something I truly enjoy because I remember what it felt like to be a young dancer searching for guidance, confidence, and opportunities. I want to share the knowledge I’ve gained throughout my care

My lessons are designed to help each dancer develop strong technique, confidence, musicality, and artistry in a supportive and personalized environment.
I am a professional ballet dancer with experience at BalletX and Miami City Ballet, as well as international training and recognition, including the Prix de Lausanne. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work with renowned choreographers, teachers, and dancers, performing a wide range of classical and contemporary repertoire.
Whether you are a complete beginner, a student preparing for auditions or competitions, or an advanced dancer looking to refine your technique, I tailor each lesson to your individual goals and level.
