About Al

My name is Coach Al Franco, founder of Warzone Boxing Club, established in 1997. I've been involved in boxing since I was eight years old, with approximately 19 years of experience in the ring and nearly 30 years developing fighters as a professional boxing coach.

Throughout my coaching career, I've helped develop 19 national, international, and world amateur champions, nationally ranked competitors, and professional championship titleholders.

My coaching background includes Daniel "Twitch" Franco, former IBF-USBA Featherweight Champion; Michael "Lil Warrior" Franco, former WBC Intercontinental Champion; Anthony "Baby Assassin" Villarreal, former WBC Youth Champion; and Daniel "Chucky" Barrera, a four-time amateur medalist who held the number-one U.S. amateur ranking in his division for five consecutive years.

I've worked with complete beginners, youth athletes, adults, law enforcement professionals, amateur competitors, professional fighters, and MMA athletes.

My philosophy is simple: teach proper boxing fundamentals, develop defensive responsibility, demand technical precision, and build skills through discipline and repetition.

I personally conduct my private coaching sessions and work with clients who genuinely want to learn the sport of boxing. Whether someone is stepping into boxing for the first time or preparing for competition, I bring the same commitment to instruction and technical development.

My private boxing lessons focus on teaching real boxing fundamentals through structured, one-on-one instruction. I work with beginners, adults, youth athletes, returning boxers, law enforcement personnel, amateur competitors, professional fighters, and MMA athletes.

Every session is tailored to the student's experience, physical ability, and training goals.

**MY TEACHING APPROACH**

I emphasize proper stance, balance, footwork, defensive responsibility, punching mechanics, timing, distance control, and ring awareness. Students learn to execute techniques correctly before progressing to more advanced combinations and movement.

**WHAT TO EXPECT DURING A LESSON**

Sessions typically include an assessment of the student's abilities, technical instruction, footwork and defensive drills, mitt work, boxing-specific conditioning, and individual corrections. Training progresses according to the student's development and readiness.

**WHAT MAKES MY LESSONS DIFFERENT**

I founded Warzone Boxing Club in 1997 and have nearly 30 years of experience developing boxers, including national and international amateur champions and professional titleholders.

My coaching is based on authentic boxing instruction—not choreographed cardio-boxing workouts. I teach students how to move, defend, think, and respond like boxers.

**WHO MY LESSONS ARE FOR**

Private coaching is available for complete beginners through experienced competitive fighters. Sparring and competition are not required for regular private lessons.

Mobile training may be arranged at an approved home, private gym, or suitable training location throughout select areas of Orange County, California, subject to availability.
