Qualifications/Experience as a Tutor:
With years of experience, I hold a Bachelor and Masters of Music in Performance. My extensive background includes teaching in multiple schools in the UK and Japan, privately, honing my ability to effectively engage students and foster their musical growth.
Techniques and Teaching Methodology:
I adopt a tailored approach, customizing lessons to suit individual learning styles and goals. Emphasizing fundamentals like technique and music theory, I integrate diverse teaching methods, ensuring a well-rounded musical education. Practical application through playing, supplemented by theory reinforcement, enhances comprehension and skill development.
Typical Length of a Lesson:
Lessons typically run for 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the student's age, skill level, and objectives. For younger or beginner students, shorter sessions may be more suitable to maintain engagement and focus.
Who Are My Lessons For:
My lessons cater to students of all levels, from beginners to advanced pianists, spanning various age groups. I welcome children, teenagers, and adults, tailoring instruction to meet the unique needs and aspirations of each student.
Ultimately, my goal is to instill a deep appreciation for music while nurturing technical proficiency, creativity, and a lifelong love for playing the piano.

Kenji is a great piano teacher. I really enjoy my lessons with him. He has helped me improve my piano level as I work towards my ABRSM grade 5 exam which I will do soon. He has helped me grasp theory concepts that I didn't quite understand with previous teachers and I am always looking forward to the next lesson.
I highly recommend Kenji as a piano tutor. He is a talented musician and a patient, engaging teacher who tailors lessons to each student’s needs. His deep knowledge of music theory and technique, combined with his encouraging approach, makes learning both effective and enjoyable. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced player, Kenji will help you build confidence and grow as a musician.
Kenji, a versatile musician, makes a great tutor for any pianists level! His methodical teaching style is very intuitive for beginners to pro level and all age groups !
