About Byron
I’ve played drums professionally for well over 35 years and have worked in many facets of the music business, including live performance, corporate events, recording and production. I have toured the world, performed in nationally recognized events, done Movies and Tv shows, commercials etc
I still perform regularly, so what I teach comes from years of actually working as a drummer and playing with other musicians.

At this point in my career, I really enjoy the mentoring side of teaching. I want to know what made a student want to play drums, what music they love, and what they hope to be able to do. From there, I can help them build the skills to get there while also sharing what I’ve learned from decades of actually making a living as a drummer.
Especially with younger students, I think keeping that original excitement alive by learning favorite songs is just as important as teaching technique for longevity.
