About Lorena

I am a chemical engineer who loves learning and teaching. I have specialist knowledge in chemistry and engineering as well as maths and statistics. I use lots of chemistry and physics in my job as an engineer and I'm keen to help you learn about my favourite subjects. :) I've spent many years tutoring in America and as I moved to the UK to do my master's degree I now want to continue tutoring and helping the next generation to learn. I was a teaching assistant to my professor in university (or college in the US) and I taught intro to engineering and material balances as an undergraduate teaching assistant. I'm a quick learner and I'm always happy to do research so throw any questions you have at me! As I grew up in the US I don't know specific exam boards but I'm very well versed in my subjects and I am more than confident I can help you pass your exams or brush up on whatever knowledge you have!

About the lesson

My teaching style is very visual and non-directive. I like to ask lots of questions and see what works best for the student. I'm very flexible and happy to adapt. I've taught university lecturers as well as 1 to 1 and I'm happy to really structure the lesson or be flexible and go at the student's pace. It's all about what the student wants and what will make them comfortable pp Talk to me about any questions you have, rates, teaching style etc I'm an open book. I'm more than happy to discuss different hourly rates and be flexible.
