About Rowan
I am a passionate Flute tutor with 18 years of experience teaching students from school level to working professionals. I help students learn flute with confidence, clarity, and enjoyment. My teaching philosophy is based on clear explanation, patience, and personal attention. I believe each student learns differently, so I customize lessons to suit individual goals and pace. In my flute classes, I focus on posture, breathing control, finger techniques, tone development, and scale practice. I also include rhythm training and basic music theory. I support students in preparing for performances and exams. Throughout my teaching career, I have helped many students perform confidently in school and college events. My greatest achievement is seeing students enjoy flute learning and grow through music.

My teaching approach for flute focuses on kindness, effective communication, and strong student support. I aim to create a comfortable learning environment where students feel confident and motivated.
Lessons are planned according to the student’s level and pace. Beginners focus on breath control and tone, while advanced students work on technique and expression. I explain each concept patiently.
Communication plays an important role in my lessons. I demonstrate techniques clearly and guide students step by step.
I support students through encouragement and positive feedback. Mistakes are treated as learning opportunities, and progress is celebrated.
In addition to flute instruction, I teach supporting subjects such as basic music theory, rhythm training, scales, and sight reading. These subjects strengthen musical skills.
My aim is to help students grow into confident flute players.
