About Maureen
- Current teacher with PGCE and DBS check - Experience working with students of all abilities - Working knowledge of GCSE and A-Level MFL curriculum - Currently studying an MA in MFL education I am a friendly, reliable and enthusiastic linguist, with over ten years' experience in teaching and translation. Having studied and worked in France, Spain and Italy, I have a passion for Romance languages which I am keen to share. I have taught English at university level in France and currently teach French, Spanish and Italian in a high-achieving mixed secondary school in London, where I am Head of the MFL Department. My school is non-selective, so I work with students of all abilities, including those with special educational needs. I pride myself on having an excellent relationship with my students and am praised by colleagues for the calm, organised and positive approach I bring to my work. With the right encouragement and guidance, I strongly believe that everyone has the potential to enjoy and learn a foreign language.
