About Kirsten
Hello everyone! My name is Kirsten. I'm a professional English teacher who has been in the business for over 4 years now. I've taught English in both the United States as well as Russia, and I've traveled a great bit throughout my life to different countries. I love to learn about different cultures, and one of my favorite parts about teaching English is helping someone to improve while also learning along the way myself! I also love to learn languages. I've learned Russian to an upper-intermediate level, and I'm currently learning French and Mandarin (simplified Chinese.)
I do not focus on doing bookwork unless it's relevant to our specific topic, as I focus more on the materials I find that would be enjoyable for you and curate my lessons as much as possible to fit your ideal lesson and goal.

A lesson with me is more than just an English lesson focused around grammar starting from point A and ending at point B. A lesson with me is more centered around me helping you learn English and improve your English based on your interests! I focus on the communicative method of learning and implement genuine material to keep you building on your current skill. I do assessment tests by request to show your progress, as it tends to be one of the best motivators. I focus on teaching primarily adults and young adults, as I have a lot of experience in Business English and everyday skills.
