About Neelam

I am Neelam, a Fashion Designer and Art Educator with over seven years of teaching experience and nine years in the fashion industry. My core focus is storytelling through art, partnering with students to enhance their personality, confidence, and creativity rather than imposing my own style. I teach fashion illustration, garment design, textiles, and creative arts with hands-on, age-appropriate, and sustainable practices, helping students explore, experiment, and realize their full artistic potential in a supportive and inspiring environment.

About the lesson

As a Professional Fashion Designer and Art Teacher, my approach to tutoring is hands-on, creative, and age-appropriate, designed to inspire students while building strong technical skills. I focus on fashion illustration, garment design, textiles, and creative arts, emphasizing innovative and sustainable practices in every lesson. Teaching Methodology: Lessons are practical and interactive, blending theory with real-world applications. I introduce step-by-step techniques in drawing, pattern making, draping, and design conceptualization. Each session incorporates sustainable design practices, teaching students to consider eco-friendly materials, resource optimization, and ethical production. I foster a supportive and encouraging environment, ensuring students feel confident to experiment and express their creativity. Projects and exercises are age-appropriate, tailored to students’ levels, interests, and prior experience. Lesson Structure: Typical lessons last 60–90 minutes, with a balance of demonstration, guided practice, and personalized feedback. Students receive creative exercises, design assignments, and mini-projects to consolidate learning. Collaborative activities and workshops are incorporated for older students to enhance teamwork and problem-solving. Qualifications & Experience: Master’s in Fashion Design with 7+ years teaching Art & Design to senior secondary students. 9+ years experience in fashion and accessory exports as a designer and merchandiser. Extensive experience conducting exhibitions, workshops, and school projects, with media recognition in India. Certified Microsoft & Adobe Educator, and 120-hour TEFL/TESOL certification.
