About Michael

A professional fast bowler with experience in the South African and English Domestic systems navigating my way through the trials and tribulations that professional sport brings.

Along the way, I've found a passion for not just witnessing fast bowling at the highest level, but trying to understand why no two bowlers are identical.

With my own history of setbacks, injuries and underperformance to the highs of success, I understand just how critical the all-round development of an athlete really is.

Regardless of your playing level, my aim is to provide clear, practical feedback, mixed in with mentorship where appropriate.

Ps. My first consultation (the advertised free call) focuses on understanding your bowling background, development goals and how my coaching approach could help you.

About the lesson

Fast bowling is a complex sequence of movements - where each bowler develops their own technique to overcome the physical and technical challenges presented within cricket.

Drawing on over a decade of experience in professional cricket and sport, my aim is to understand each bowler as an individual and develop a tailored approach to improving performance, technical efficiency and long-term development.

Sessions may incorporate video analysis, relevant physical testing, an initial pre-screening questionnaire and, where available, bowling-speed measurements to help guide and monitor progress.

My approach may challenge some conventional coaching principles, including those commonly taught within traditional academy and pathway systems. I encourage players to arrive with an open mind, a willingness to ask questions and an enthusiasm for exploring different ways to improve.

Ultimately, I don't believe there is one perfect bowling action. My goal is to help each bowler discover and develop the most effective version of their own.
