About Owen
With 20 years of experience teaching flute, I have had the opportunity to work with school students, college students, and working professionals who share a passion for music. I believe that learning the flute should be both enjoyable and rewarding. My lessons are carefully planned to help students improve steadily while building confidence and creativity.
My teaching approach combines communication, flexibility, patience, and motivation. I adapt every lesson according to the student's learning style and goals. I explain musical concepts in simple English and use practical demonstrations that make learning easier and more enjoyable.
Along with flute, I teach music theory, rhythm exercises, ear training, breathing techniques, beginner keyboard, sight reading, music appreciation, and stage performance skills. These related subjects help students gain a complete understanding of music.
I help students improve breathing control, finger movement, tone production, posture, rhythm, and musical expression. I also provide personalized practice schedules that encourage consistent improvement outside the classroom. My mission is to create confident musicians who continue enjoying music for many years.

My teaching methodology encourages students to enjoy every step of learning the flute while developing strong musical skills and self-confidence. Communication, Accountability, and Integrity are the values that guide my lessons and create a positive environment for learning.
I begin by teaching breathing exercises, posture correction, embouchure, finger placement, and tone production. As students progress, they learn rhythm practice, scales, note reading, articulation, dynamics, phrasing, performance techniques, and musical expression. Every lesson is designed to match the student's ability and learning goals.
Communication helps students understand concepts through simple explanations, demonstrations, and regular discussions. Accountability motivates students to practice consistently, stay responsible for their learning, and celebrate their progress. Integrity ensures that I teach with honesty, patience, fairness, and encouragement.
Besides flute, I also teach Music Theory, Ear Training, Sight Reading, Staff Notation, Rhythm Development, Breath Control, Instrument Care, Music Appreciation, Performance Skills, and Practice Methods. These additional subjects help students become complete musicians with strong technical and theoretical knowledge.
My goal is to help students become expressive, disciplined, and confident flute players who develop a lifelong passion for music.
