About Mitchell
As a child, I would bake with my Mum before I was old enough to even see over the kitchen bench. I always wanted to be a chef, but my Mum, my teachers, and everyone told me that being a chef is tough - long hours, low pay, and the work environment is mentally and physically difficult.
So I chose to study food at University, and I graduated with a Bachelor of Nutrition and Food Science from the University of Adelaide in 2018.
I worked in the fresh fruit industry for 1 year, while working as a freelancer developing mayonnaise and non-dairy milk among other products. I then moved to a frozen dinner meal manufacturer and became a Food Technologist in the New Product Development department. I learned about many different foods, from processed meat to deep-fried foods to sauces to potato mash and salad mixes, and worked with award-winning chefs.
