About Mohamed

I have a Master Degree in the Chemistry and Technology of Polymers. After graduation I worked for an Algerian gas company for 7 years, of which, 18 months as Technical Instructor. I worked for one year as French/English Translator/Interpreter for the Refugee Board, UK. In Canada, I worked for 8 years in various chemical laboratories, as Laboratory Technologist. In 2005, I decided to make a career change by accepting a job as French Instructor with Berlitz Calgary Learning Centre until 2011. Since 2012, I have been tutoring French and English at all levels, to young students and adults alike.

About the lesson

I have been teaching and tutoring both French and English since 2005. At Berlitz Calgary Language Centre, I helped adult professionals improve their communication skills by using the Direct Method, which is an intensive speaking approach based on vocabulary.

Since 2012, I have been tutoring and coaching students by helping them with their homework, assignments and exam preparations. I have also helped adults, especially those seeking a career advancement, a foreign job assignment or simply a trip to France.

Classes were delivered using one or a combination of the following approaches and methodologies: The Direct Method, the Structural Approach, Total Physical Response (TPR), Communication Language Teaching (CLT), the Task Based Language Learning and the Silent Way.

The student showed interest and eagerness in learning and improving her English. She neither showed a significant struggle in answering questions, nor in putting together a paragraph to describe an event. However, assistance is required in helping her with grammar, new vocabulary, and some vocabulary and structures.

Travel expenses of $7.00 covering the cost of public transportation are incurred, if classes are to take place outside the downtown core.
The first class of a duration of 30 mins is free.
